WordPress : Optimize Your Blog
According to Patrick Bennett, a WordPress guru since 2006 there are important plugins and ways that you need to apply to boost your WordPress blog and to make it more search engine friendly.
Here is a list of options and plugins to install:
- Permalinks – this option is already in WordPress, it just need to be activated.
- Aksimet – a plugin shipped with WordPress, that needs to be activated. I uses Aksimet webservices to detect the spam comments.
- Google Sitemap Generator – a plugin that help Google crawlers to index the blog more efficiently. Yahoo and Microsoft agreed to use the same sitemap protocol.
- All in One SEO Pack – a plugin which tweak the blog in order to block search engines detecting duplicate content.
- Use FeedBurner and Feedzilla- to send your feeds to the people subscribed to one of those services.
- Add a contact form to get readers feedback
- Use tags and tag cloud
